I severely doubt anyone would pay that much attention, but if you happen to look back to an LJ entry in... June-ish last year, I think?... you might notice me saying that I wanted to get a tattoo of Sephiroth's wing.
Guess what I finally did today.
I'm quite proud of myself for managing to go and get it done all on my ownsome. I'm extremely rubbish at talking to people, both in general but particularly when it's in a business sense. I mean, I ended up crying when I had to ring up my bank account about some questionable transactions. It's no wonder I have no friends, really.
But anyway. Despite that, I managed to go and talk to the nice lady in the tattoo studio (already carefully researched and studied online beforehand to eliminate any further awkward talking >>). I decided to go ahead with getting the tattoo straight away, because she was free for the afternoon and the other option was to ring the studio and arrange an appointment sometime later. I know if it came to doing that, I would've inevitably chickened out and never called back.
(Of course, I then ended up freaking out about making a 'snap decision' (y'know, despite having been planning it for, what, six months or more?), but, fortunately, I'm even more useless at going back on things than I am talking to people in the first place. >>)
And thus, I acquired a tattoo!
Please excuse the crappy picture... turns out it's pretty damn hard to take a photo of your own back when you can't tell where you're pointing the camera, haha. It did end being changed from the original design in quite a few places, but it should still be recognisable.

The only downside to this is that I now can't do any combat class/weight training/swimming etc. for two weeks. Two whole weeks. With no gym. What am I supposed to do with my life now? *whimper* T^T

Date: 2012-01-28 02:14 am (UTC)Getting my tattoo was terrifying for the same reasons. I knew exactly what I wanted and researched parlours beforehand, but actually going there and talking to the artist was so nerve wracking. We should totally be able to do these things online with minimal human interaction. (My brother got a tattoo from the same guy about a week after me, and apparently he remembered me very well because I didn't talk and he was worried I hated it. Bro told him no, she just doesn't talk to people.)

Date: 2012-01-28 10:55 am (UTC)Ahh, life would be so much easier if everything could be done online. Fortunately the artist I had was really nice and didn't mind keeping up a monologue explaining was she was doing, so I only had to nod and make interested noises every so often. I learnt lots of things and didn't have to talk much, so it worked quite well in the end. ^^
