Introducing… London Expo, May ’08! *awkward silence punctuated by occasional reserved cheers*

Yesh. Well. Photo spams are fun. Anime conventions are fun. Thus, this post must be doubly fun! …Or not. Either way ^^

 

So! Expo. Not particularly much to say that doesn’t apply to all convention-type things (excessive amounts of pocky, large groups of overexcited fanboys and girls, squeeing at random things… you know how it is ^^), so on with the photos, ne?  

Firstly, random cosplayers, cause they ist always fun…

Fullmetal Alchemist peoples ^^

 

Saber from Fate Stay Night (I actually know someone!) and Ester from Trinity Blood (who I am going to attempt to cosplay as in October. But probably won’t in the end, cause I fail at making stuff and the outfit is kinda complex >.<)

 

Ooh, then this was fun! I missed most of it – gah >.< - but this is the tail end of the Bleach congo. Yup, Bleach congo. T’was awesome. Something like twenty or so Bleach cosplayers all in a line dancing around… ^___^

 

 

And other randomness…

^^ This was part of the cosplay rave. They had a huge bunch of cosplayers all doing random dances – in this photo, the macarena. I have some video of the alien and predator guys doing the Macarena too…

 

Funneh…

 

And Masquerade peeps. There is something really annoying about the lighting in that hall where they do the Masquerade – or maybe it’s the distance from the stage, or something. Either way, it is bloody difficult to get good photos (well, for me to get good photos anyway. I just fail at using my camera). Usually they wouldn’t stand in one place long enough for me to not get a huge motion blur as they wandered off. On Sunday I figured out that the blurriness was less likely to occur if I used the flash, but then that made the pictures really, really dark so you could barely see them (although you could see the back of the heads of the people in front very well indeed, and also the elbow of some person who was constantly getting in the way >.<) *sigh* So these are some of the few that did come out – mostly the winners, since they’re – logically – the best cosplays. (Oh, and I’ll have to show you the video of the Bleach tango one group did one day… XD)

 

*ahem* Anyway…

 

They won the best performance thing for Saturday. It was highly amusing, if rather ‘wtf’-worthy ^^

 

The winners for Saturday in respective order – the one on the left (red and black, flower thing for a head) came first and so on.

 

One of two groups of Sailor Moon peeps who came up and did random dances; this one won the best performance for Sunday. They also did an impromptu dance to the YMCA afterwards, which was pretty funneh ^^

 

Evil photography really showing up here. Anyway, same as before – skull dude came first, the .hack peoples second and so on – except for the person on the far right, who was the winner in the junior category.

 

There was also a Japanese-style fashion show (which was in the same place as the Masquerade and thus had the same photography problems >.<);

 

I like the one in the middle best, and also the one on the far left. One day I will get a proper gothic Lolita outfit sorted out…

 

And finally – not very interesting for you, but I feel like putting it anyway, cause its not a proper anime convention if you can’t come back with a big pile of stuffst – the things I bought; random Bleach poster, Trinity Blood DVDs vols 3, 4 and 6 (I had a sudden inexplicable Trinity Blood craving ^^;; But they sold out of volume 5 >.<), Bleach manga vol. 8 (I’m so behind *sniffle*), Gothic and Lolita Bible vol. 1 and a bunch of Japanese sweets (pocky, obviously, in normal and ichigo, another chocolate thing that was almost but not entirely unlike pocky – it was like the chocolate-and-nut outer part of a Ferro Roche (or however you spell it) in a short stick, and reeeeeeeally nice – and some kind of strawberry chew thing.) I also got a bunch of free stuff, but I haven’t even got round to looking through all that yet -_-‘’ *ist deadeded*

And, now that that’s done, I must now go and do some revision. Ick. Or I could just watch tons of Trinity Blood… >>

I hope you had fuuun, Katy! It sounds like you did and MY STARS the awesomeness of costumes! Here's me commenting on each photo at a time, 'cause if I try to comment out of order I'll get into a huge confuzzling mess of fangirling and squeeing and noone will be able to understand anything. Not that I make much sense anyways, but meh;

1. This creeped me out. *shakes fist at ebil Blink peep and angel of DOOM! peep* But it looks so cool ^^

2. BWAHA LINK! .... I love his wristguards ^^

3. Wow... the costume is awesome, but I'd never wear something so revealing ^^ Brave girl. Nice ears, too. *snickers*

4. Yeah... THIS one made me flail and squeal ^^ AXEL, SAΪX, XIGBAR AND VEXEN! YAAAAY!! *total fangirl*

5. .... Cardcaptor Sakura? ... maybe? *never really got into that* Her hat reminds me of Link ^^

6. This ALSO made me flail and squee ^________^ IT’S CLOUD(STER) AND THE BUSTER SWORD (of DOOM! ^^)!! ... I’m not sure who the one wearing white is, though ^^ AND A RENO IN THE BACKGROUND! *luffles Reno and Cloud*

8. SQUEE!! FMA PEEPS!! Haha, so many Envys and Lusts... and that Roy Mustang is really tall ^^

9. Ooh, I remember her! Saber, that is. At Animania last year, they had a preview-thing going for Fate Stay Night on the big screen above the organ. The ginormous organ. I remember Ester, too! You can make the costume, Katy. I know you can! I believe in you~

10. Holy GAWD it’s a Kenpachi! O_O I’ve never seen a Kenpachi before, ‘cept in the musicals, but that doesn’t count ‘cuz it’s professional.... hehe!!
