[Warning: the following will contain many pictures, and much cosplay fun. It may or may not kill slower internets. Also, hovery comments!]

So, Kumoricon. Was awesome. Okay, okay. I'm sure there are probably bigger and better conventions around in America. And, to be completely honest, the only reason it was Kumoricon and not somewhere else was because Kumoricon was conveniently right there, in the general location we'd planned to be at the time we'd planned to be there. >> But nonetheless, it was a pretty awesome first proper-American-con and fun tiems were had, so yosh.

I think it's mostly a people thing. Because cons are never quite as awesome if you have to go on your own. But I got to go with Jess! Who was my Zack! And we got to mess around in character and basically be Zack and Cloud all day. So, awesome levels were up immediately. Plus, thanks mostly to the Zackmoose being particularly vocal for obvious reasons, we ended up talking to way more people than I ever would have on my own and made a lot more new friends there. And everyone seemed to find the fact that we were an English!Cloud and Australian!Zack very amusing for some reason. ^^;;

Also, one thing that I have learnt about proper cons that differs from the usual over-glorified-dealer's-rooms-that-pose-as-cons that I go to. Proper cons have things scheduled until late. Very late. Most of the good panels (and by good I mean the ones involving porn) weren't until between maybe ten in the evening and one in the morning. Which is fair enough, you want the little kidlets to have hopefully pootled off by then. It's just a leettle bit of an annoyance when you've had to get up at six in the morning, because it takes three hours to get ready with the cosplays and you want to still get to the con relatively early to queue up for badges. Because by the time it gets to ten, and you've spent the whole day standing up not quite able to breathe thanks to bindings, it's really rather preferable to just collapse somewhere. >>

We claimed that sofa as ours for quite a lot of both evenings. >>

Anyhow! There were some points of the con when we were actually alive, shock horror, and went around and took photos! Huzzah! So, first I shall spam you with pictures of other cosplayers that I got.

So, what else did we actually do? Aside from wander around staring at awesome people, cause we did a lot of that. >> Well, there were FF meetups!

[Prepare for incoming spam of Final Fantasy cosplays.]

And then Squall in the picture above proposed to his girlfriend, who was the Rinoa. There was much squeeing.

I do not actually have any of my own photos of the giant FFVII group shot, because both of us were in it. However! Have this one that I yoinked off Facebook.

I think it mostly dissolved after that, because the lower numbers usually don't get much love. Instead, everyone kinda grouped up and silliness happened. For example.

And more random FF photos, from times other than the shoot!

And then there was... this statue. I'm not entirely sure why (it seemed like a good idea at the time?), but we all decided we should go over there and play around and pose people on it. Reno is far too willing.

Oh yes. You see that shiny materia Zack's holding? That was another thing we did. Bought shiny things! In my case, the materia, for it is my precious. Did I need a glowy green ball that lights up? Not really. But was it awesome enough to buy anyway? Yes. Yes it was.

We also ended up having dinner at a fairly nice restauranty place (because nowhere else was bloody open >_<), so instead of lighting the table by candlelight, we had materia-glow. And a flower from Aerith. XD;

Anyways. I was also very weak and bought a doujinshi. I knew I shouldn't look at them. But I thought, hey, it's okay, they only ever have crap doujinshi at cons, I'm so over buying those. Not so. Apparently American cons are much superior to English ones and actually have decent doujinshi. Veeeery decent doujinshi. I ended up buying a nice new Yubinbasya one. I couldn't help it. >> (And I will, of course, be scanning it for the comm at some point.)

I also bought (or rather, made Jess go buy it for me cause I was too embarassed to do it myself >>;;) a Seph/Cloud yaoi badge. And then Jess bought some shiny, shiny wall scrolls, which are a hell of a lot cheaper in America. America, why you get all the cool stuff?! T^T

And what else did we do? Panels! There was a really awesome one about how to use Photoshop to digitally ink sketches, which I really want to have a go at doing for my tentacle!porn picture. And then was another drawing one, but... well, they gave us paper. And then I didn't hear a word the person leading the panel said, because somehow we ended up scribbling notes to each other in-character as Zack and Cloud for the entire time. [Hey, Jess. Do you still have those bits of paper somewhere? XD]

We also eventually managed to make it to a yaoi-drawing panel without collapsing! Huzzah!

There was also a professional photographer there, so a group of us went and had those done. It was originally a much bigger FFVII group, but the wait was quite long and it ended up going into the cosplay competition time, so quite a few of them went off to see that. We ended up with us two, an Aerith, a Red XIII, Cissnei and Vincent.

We did a bunch of individual shots and group shots and general messing around. ^^

Also, there was cosplay chess, and anime dating games, and more awesome stuff all over the place. Aaaaaand, that's about it. Except for random photos that I couldn't fit anywhere else! =D

Random photo which looks really kinda gay. >>;;;

Back at the hotel, attempting to replicate the Nibelhiem Inn Zack-collapses-on-the-bed and Cloud-emos-in-the-corner scene.

And that is all. *collapse*

-~*~-

P.S. Whoops, forgot about this. I scribbled this tiny little thing last night. I was just poking around communities I've never visited before and never followed, and stumbled across a FFVII 100-word drabble one. And did the most recent prompt, because I could.

(Not sure if I'm actually going to post it there though. I feel like my writing is going downhill; I still maintain my first ever fic was probably one of, if not the best, that I've managed to write. And I think that's because yaoi has killed my reading. I used to read books constantly. Now I don't have the attention span and only read porn and shit, a fair portion of which is probably crap. I'm pretty sure it shows. And it does mean that on the rare occasion I do write anything, I'm really wary about posting it anywhere because I'm never sure if it's even halfway decent.) /whiny tangent

But I'll post it here, because this LJ gets all my shit. >>

Prompt:#121: Spirit
Characters: Sephiroth, Cloud
Rating: G
Warnings: None

Watching him was fascinating.

Fascinating, since the boy had never seemed the type. Physically, he was fragile; mentally, even more so. Weaker in every respect.

Yet he was the one who had delivered the crippling blow. He had interrupted when everything was perfect. He had tried to take Mother away.

And now he honestly believed he could stop them, even as he came willingly to their call. Even though he was nothing more than a puppet, though he'd lost everything, somehow it never stopped his stubborn, futile fighting.

Well, Sephiroth smiled. That would just make it all the better when he broke Cloud's spirit.

And now that is all.
